Botanic marque
The structure of a wild bloom, a thriving high desert shrub, or graceful garden blossom. These beauties not only fascinate but can also supply pigments. Concocting my own brings me closer to my subject. Botany has inspired artists for centuries, from poems to paintings to bouquets. Our mark(ques) are our signatures, our individual human expression. The chemistry of making ink from roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds is just as intriguing as the botanic construction itself. This ink is alive and vital to my discovery.

ADDING WHEN LIFE TAKES
Is a collection of works reflecting on what we can still bring to the world when we feel depleted. I've titled these pieces with one word, because I've found its the simplest of words that can have the deepest impact on my heart. One word may have complex meanings, and associations for each of us individually, positive or negative, or both. Yet we can still add to what has been taken.
