A LITTLE STORY :
A bowl full of cherries picked from my families back yard tree made its way into "confident". A word I've been told over and over I just needed a little more of. As I have an array of complex emotions for this word, I reclaim it with bold pokeberry, swiss chard and beets grown in our garden with its own natural boldness. This piece reminds me of the confidence there is in mark making, and the color of our world itself, is a present confidence.
A NOTE ON WILD BOTANICAL INKS:
These inks are one of a kind, alive and changing. Because of their wild nature each ink will change with time. I choose to celebrate this wonder and delight in the beauty of changing color. For best preserving of color I recommend keeping these pieces out of direct sunlight. Putting the piece behind UVA protected glass is a good option if color change is a concern.
