A LITTLE STORY:
My brother and I would catch butterflies and study them in the sweet summertime of our Kansas upbringing. The two butterflies in "content" are sketches of two framed butterflies we caught 20 years ago: a zebra and giant swallowtail. I took some blueberries and white chalk to make the soft lavender pigment you see. Contentment is present as I examine these subtle ink interactions.
A NOTE ON WILD BOTANICAL INKS:
These inks are one of a kind, alive and changing. Because of their wild nature each ink will change with time. I choose to celebrate this wonder and delight in the beauty of changing color. For best preserving of color I recommend keeping these pieces out of direct sunlight. Putting the piece behind UVA protected glass is a good option if color change is a concern.
PICK UP:
Pieces are available for pickup near Miami County Kansas and the Kansas City Region, please direct message for pick up arrangements.
