A LITTLE STORY :
Pine drops are a root parasite that usually grow around conifer forested areas, and was the beginning inspiration for this piece. I used organic French breakfast radishes in "compassion", a soft pale pink ink. A friend, business owner & natural dyer gifted me some madder root pigment and I've been exploring all that it can do. In this piece the color became a warm, orange pink. This plant can be used medicinally but is more widely known in the natural dyeing sphere.
A NOTE ON WILD BOTANICAL INKS:
These inks are one of a kind, alive and changing. Because of their wild nature each ink will change with time. I choose to celebrate this wonder and delight in the beauty of changing color. For best preserving of color I recommend keeping these pieces out of direct sunlight. Putting the piece behind UVA protected glass is a good option if color change is a concern.
